Statement

CRYSTALS highlights the facets of complexity theory in urban-landscape-development through painting and 3D installation-work of architecture as experience and spectacle.

This project utilizes large-scale paintings and 3D model installation as a platform to engage and explore the role of fractals, growth models, and patternization and how they perpetuate architecture as the art of moving people through space-in-time. By addressing architecture and land development through color, scale-modeling, and play, the project will invite the viewer to consider time and universal properties of nature as driving factors for Urbanity as a perpetuation of natural forces. Complexity theory addresses and describes the creation of all complex living and non-living structures; I address architecture through this lens using buildings and structures as language to hint at future possibilities.
